Privacy Policy

What happens to the data that reaches us through this website, and what you can ask of us.

Last updated

The following notice sets out how personal data is handled on ordivix.com under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. It names the responsible company, the data we receive when you use the site or write to us, the purposes of the processing and the rights you can exercise.

Controller and scope of this policy

This website is run by ordivix, 14 Kingsway Lane, Swansea SA1 5JN, United Kingdom, which decides how the data described on this page is used. Questions about it can be sent to newsdesk@ordivix.com or asked by telephone on 01792 410386; they concern every page under ordivix.com and the messages that reach us through it.

Storage periods

We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as statutory retention periods require. After that it is deleted or the reference to a person is removed.

Technical log entries are deleted automatically after a short time. Enquiries and the correspondence that follows are kept while they may still be needed, and documents covered by tax or commercial law for the statutory period.

Cookies

We limit cookies and comparable techniques to what the website needs in order to work. No advertising networks, cross-site tracking or profiling tools are used, and a choice you make in a cookie notice is stored only in your own browser.

Your browser lets you review what is kept for this website, erase it and prevent it from being stored again. If you block entries that the site needs in order to function, some pages may not display correctly.

Which data we process

Each time a page is requested, the server notes the address of the requesting device, the date and time, the page and the browser that asked for it. These entries are needed to deliver the page, to keep the site stable and to trace faults, and they are removed after a short time.

Writing to us by email or through the form means that your contact details and the content of your message reach us. We use them to understand your request and to answer it, and we ask only for what a reply requires.

Service providers and transfers abroad

Personal data is never traded. Access is limited to the technical service providers that run our hosting and mail systems, who process data on our behalf under a written contract, and to public bodies where disclosure is required.

Some of these providers may process or store data outside our own country. Where that happens, we make sure that the transfer rests on the safeguards that data protection law provides for such cases.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time which data we store about you, request its correction or deletion, have the processing restricted, object to it or receive a copy in a common electronic format. Consent that you have given may be withdrawn at any time; the withdrawal applies from then on.

A message to newsdesk@ordivix.com or a letter to our postal address is enough to use any of these rights. To make sure that information reaches the right person, we may ask you to confirm who you are, and we reply within the period the law sets.

Besides contacting us, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.

Why we process data

We process data to make the website available, to answer enquiries, to prepare or perform contracts, to keep our business records in order and to protect the site against misuse and technical faults.

Depending on the case, the basis is your consent, the performance of a contract or steps taken before entering into one, a legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in a secure website. Without the details we ask for, we may be unable to reply.

Amendments to this notice

We may update this policy when the website, our services or the legal requirements change. The version published on this page, carrying the date shown above, is the one that applies to your visit.

Each new version replaces the previous one without a separate notice. Where a change concerns processing that depends on your consent, we obtain fresh consent before it applies.
